Safe Kids Northeast Georgia

Launched in 1987, Safe Kids Worldwide is the first and only international non-profit organization dedicated solely to the prevention of accidental injuries, a leading killer of children 19 and under.  More than 600 coalitions in 49 states bring together health and safety experts, educators, corporations, foundations, governments and volunteers to educate and protect families.

Created in 1992, Safe Kids Northeast Georgia is one of 30 coalitions in Georgia.  Northeast Georgia Medical Center serves as the lead agency for Safe Kids Northeast Georgia, and programs are funded through donations to the Northeast Georgia Health System Foundation. Over 130 members, representing more than 30 community agencies, participate on the coalition.

Safe Kids Northeast Georgia tracks childhood injury rates through data provided by Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s Emergency Departments. Using this data, coalition members are able to determine where to best focus resources.
