Stroke Care Classes, Events and Support

At Northeast Georgia Medical Center, we’re committed to helping stroke survivors and their families continue healing long after leaving the hospital. Our stroke care classes and community events are designed to educate, connect and empower participants to live full, meaningful lives after a stroke.

Ongoing Support for Stroke Survivors and Caregivers

Recovery doesn’t end when a patient leaves the hospital, it continues through shared experiences, continued learning and community connection. NGHS offers a monthly Stroke Support Group at Regain Outpatient Neurological Rehabilitation in Gainesville to help survivors and caregivers navigate life after stroke with confidence and encouragement.

You can view the full event listing—including times, registration and updates—on our official event page: Life After Stroke Support Group

These free sessions meet every 3rd Tuesday of each month, and provide a welcoming, supportive environment for anyone affected by stroke. Participants are invited to:

  • Share stories, challenges and milestones with others who understand
  • Discuss coping mechanisms and emotional recovery with caring professionals
  • Learn about secondary stroke prevention, rehabilitation options and home modifications
  • Access information on local community resources and ongoing support opportunities

Empowering Patients Through Education

Our stroke care classes and events are part of NGHS’s ongoing mission to improve community health through education and connection. Each event focuses on practical ways to enhance quality of life, from reducing risk factors to fostering independence and resilience.

By combining expert medical guidance with emotional and social support, we help stroke survivors and their families feel better prepared to manage recovery and adapt to life after stroke.

Dedicated to Lifelong Recovery

At NGHS, we believe stroke recovery is a lifelong journey, one that requires compassion, education and ongoing support. Through our classes, events and professional resources, we are proud to walk alongside patients and caregivers at every step.
