The Medical Center Foundation Seeks Applications for 2018 Golf Tournament Beneficiary

Published: Wednesday, June 21, 2017

With the 2017 Medical Center Open Golf Tournament benefitting Gateway Domestic Violence Center just around the corner, plans are already underway to select a beneficiary for the 2018 Medical Center Open Golf Tournament.

“By selecting the 2018 beneficiary now, we position ourselves to begin plans for next year immediately following this year’s tournament,” says Nancy Colston, president and chief development officer of The Medical Center Foundation.

The Medical Center Open beneficiary is selected by The Medical Center Foundation Board of Trustees, a volunteer group of community leaders who raise funds to improve the health of the community, led by Foundation chair LeTrell Simpson.  Through the Medical Center Open Golf Tournament, nearly $3.5 million has been raised and given back to the community since the first event in 1997.  Overall, more than $54 million has been raised by The Medical Center Foundation to improve the health of the community since 1999.

The Medical Center Foundation seeks tangible projects that have community appeal from organizations that demonstrate financial stability, sustainability for the future, and a strong management team.

Applicants for the 2018 Medical Center Open Beneficiary should be non-profit 501c3 agencies who have a project in need of funding that is focused on improving the physical health of the community.  Priority is given to projects that will have a positive impact on the largest number of lives.  Funds raised for this project will be available following the tournament.

Requests should range from $200,000 to $250,000.  The application deadline is September 1, 2017.  Applicants are asked to apply online at: www.themedicalcenterfoundation.org/beneficiary-application
