American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer
The Cancer Center at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) is accredited by the American College of Surgeons’ Commission on Cancer as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. This means our cancer patients benefit from a multidisciplinary approach to care, including a patient-centered focus and treatment planning based on evidence-based national guidelines.
NGMC is proud to be designated a Research Network Member of the GA NCORP, Georgia’s National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program. As one of only 34 NCI community-based research programs, the GA NCORP research network provides Georgians in urban and rural areas with access to state-of-the-art cancer prevention, screening, control, treatment and post-treatment trials.
Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s (NGMC) Cancer Services are ranked in the Top 9% in the nation by CareChex, an independent healthcare ratings organization. CareChex ranks NGMC among the elite hospitals for cancer care based on several measures including quality of medical care, treatment outcomes and patient satisfaction.
