More than 10,000 lives have now started at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Braselton, as staff recently celebrated the birth of the 10,000th baby delivered at the hospital. Scarlett Star Martin arrived on October 24 at 5:23 p.m., weighing 7 pounds and 9 ounces, and she’s the second child born to Taylor and Jared Martin of Flowery Branch.
“Our four-year old son, Bryce, is in love with his new baby sister,” says Taylor. “I could not have prayed for a better, or quicker, experience. Everyone at NGMC Braselton was very nice and made me feel so comfortable. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff and the hospital.”
Tappie Hurdelbrink, a certified nurse midwife with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group OB/GYN in Braselton, delivered Scarlett.
“It’s an incredible honor to be part of such a special milestone,” said Hurdelbrink. “Every delivery is a unique and beautiful experience, but being able to welcome the 10,000th baby makes this one all the more special.”
Since the first baby was born on September 12, 2016, NGMC Braselton has been a cornerstone for maternal and neonatal care, equipped with advanced technology and a compassionate team. The hospital’s comprehensive care for expecting mothers includes prenatal education, specialized care for high-risk pregnancies and a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
“We are overjoyed to welcome Baby Scarlett into the world and celebrate this tremendous achievement,” says Megan Cargile, MSN, RN, director of Labor and Delivery at NGMC Braselton. “Our dedicated team of obstetricians, midwives, nurses and support staff work tirelessly to provide a safe, supportive environment for our patients and their families and this moment reflects their unwavering commitment to excellence.”
“This milestone symbolizes the trust our community places in us to bring new life into the world, which is a responsibility we hold sacred,” says Angela Gary, MSN, RN, chief nursing officer at NGMC Braselton. “We look forward to continuing to provide the highest quality care to families for generations to come.”
