New Medical Plaza 2 now open in Dawsonville

Published: Tuesday, March 19, 2024

Patients living along Ga. 400 and the surrounding area now have greater access to care close to home, as Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) opened its second Medical Plaza in Dawsonville today, Monday, March 18. Northeast Georgia Physicians Group OB/GYN began seeing patients on the second floor, and the remaining practices in the building will open following the Grand Opening celebration planned for this Saturday, March 23, 9 – 11 a.m.

“We’re thrilled to offer more appointments and expanded services here in Dawsonville,” said Daniel Tuffy, president and chief administrative officer for Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG). “With the April opening of the new Northeast Georgia Medical Center Lumpkin just 8 miles north of Medical Plaza 2, patients needing surgery will be able to both see their doctors and have surgery close to home.”

The three-story, 35,800-square-foot building – easily visible from Ga. 400 and conveniently located beside Medical Plaza 1 – is expected to accommodate 100,000 visits this year. The facility will be home to:

  • Georgia Heart Institute
  • NGPG Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine
  • NGPG OB/GYN
  • and a new, larger Urgent Care
