Northeast Georgia Medical Center Barrow earns accreditation for cardiac testing

Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Barrow’s Echocardiography Lab and Nuclear Cardiology service are now accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

“This distinction demonstrates NGMC Barrow’s ongoing commitment to improving the level of quality cardiac testing and treatment for our community,” said Jason Tyner, manager of imaging for NGMC Barrow, in a news release.

In order to receive accreditation, NGMC underwent a detailed self-evaluation followed by a thorough review of critical operations, technology, case studies and final reports by a panel of medical experts.

“This accreditation is a seal of approval that helps patients easily identify which hospitals hold themselves to high standards that are consistently met,” said Chad Hatfield, president of NGMC Barrow. “It is one more service that enables us to improve the health of the patients in Barrow and surrounding counties through all that we do at NGMC Barrow.”
