NGMC Hosting Prostate Cancer Panels

Published: Tuesday, June 12, 2018

Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among men, according to the American Cancer Society (ACS). In fact, the ACS reports that one in nine men will develop prostate cancer at some point in their lifetime. But, thanks to increased awareness of screening guidelines and advanced treatment technologies, the ACS reports there are almost three million prostate cancer survivors in the U.S.

Attend a free informative session hosted by Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s Cancer Services to learn how you can protect yourself and loved ones from prostate cancer. You’ll hear from a physician panel – including urologists, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists – as they answer important questions regarding prevention, screening and treatment options for prostate cancer.

There are two opportunities to attend: Wednesday, June 20, at NGMC Gainesville’s Walters Auditorium; and Thursday, June 21, at NGMC Braselton’s Education Center.

Registration and a free light supper start at 5 p.m., with the panel beginning at 5:30 p.m. The seminar is free, but registration is required. For more information or to register, call 1-800-347-1416 or visit www.nghs.com/prostate-seminar.
