One of the nation’s premier hospice programs is right here in northeast Georgia, according to a national survey. Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) was recently named a Hospice Honors Elite recipient by HEALTHCAREfirst, which recognizes fewer than 5 percent of hospice organizations nationwide.
“This recognition reflects our team’s deep commitment to caring for the whole person’s mind, body and spirit, while also supporting families through incredibly emotional times,” said Natalie McNeal, director of Hospice and In-Home Palliative Care at NGMC. “Our nurses, physicians, social workers, chaplains and support staff pour their hearts into this work every day, and I am proud to see their compassion and dedication recognized in this way.”
The award is based on results from the CAHPS (Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) Hospice Survey and highlights care teams that score above the national average and consistently provide exceptional support during end-of-life journeys.
Hospice of NGMC offers expert care focused on comfort, dignity and quality of life, whether care is provided in the hospital, at home or in a long-term care facility. Support extends beyond the patient to include emotional and spiritual care for families.
