27th Annual Marketplace Scheduled November 1 – 3

Published: Tuesday, October 30, 2018

Marketplace, an annual festive holiday shopping event presented by premier sponsors The Medical Center Auxiliary and Willis Investment Counsel, will take place November 1 – 3 at the Gainesville Civic Center. One hundred percent of the proceeds from Marketplace 2018 will benefit Safe Kids Gainesville/Hall County, which works to prevent accidental childhood injury – the leading killer of children ages 14 and younger in the United States.

Marketplace Preview Party is Thursday, November 1, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Tickets for the Preview Party are $50 per person and are available for purchase at nghs.com/marketplace. Preview Party attendees will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, silent and live auctions, return admission to Marketplace and the chance to shop before Marketplace opens to the public.

General admission is open 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday, November 2, and 9:30 a.m. –  5 p.m. on Saturday, November 3. Tickets are $5 and children 12 and younger are admitted free. Complimentary valet parking and a parking shuttle will be available.

Marketplace will feature more than 80 merchants from six states, selling unique gift items such as art, books, jewelry and other ladies’ accessories, home accessories, clothing, gourmet food, Christmas items and much more. Gifts will be priced in all ranges from small, inexpensive gifts to unique, one-of-a-kind items.

Marketplace is an annual fundraising event of The Medical Center Auxiliary, which benefits health care services of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. This year’s chairpersons – Katie Crumley, Jenny Floyd and Morgan Wood – lead a planning committee of more than 30 volunteers including Auxiliary president Ellen Toms. More than 115 volunteers will serve during Marketplace weekend.

“Marketplace truly is a wonderful event where attendees have the opportunity to shop with merchants they wouldn’t normally have access to, all while raising money and showing support for a great cause,” said tri-chair Katie Crumley. “It is definitely a win for all involved.”
