Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) has continued its work to improve the health of the community through its dedication to innovating through technology. And, once again, NGHS is the only hospital in Georgia – and one of only 18 across the nation – to receive Level 10 Digital Health Most Wired status from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) this year.

Other nationally leading health systems achieving Level 10 status this year included NYU Langone Health (New York City), Stanford Health Care (California), University of Utah Health and more.

“Earning this distinction again highlights our position as a leader in healthcare innovation,” said Chris Paravate, chief information officer at NGHS. “We’re not just keeping up with current trends. We’re helping set the pace for how technology can transform care for patients and providers alike.”

To achieve Level 10 Most Wired status, NGHS was visited by independent, third-party surveyors who measured the organization’s adoption, implementation and use of information technology. According to CHIME, organizations that achieve Level 10 are leaders in healthcare technology who actively push the industry forward and see meaningful outcomes including improved quality of care, improved access to healthcare services, improved experiences for patients and reduced costs.

CHIME surveyors specifically recognized a few aspects of the work being done at NGHS, includingimplementing DAX Copilot ambient listeningNGHS is among early adopters that are piloting the artificial intelligence solution that is helping physicians spend more time with patients and less time in front of a screen. More than 480 clinicians have been trained on DAX Copilot, a Microsoft product, that ambiently captures conversations with patients and caregivers and automatically converts them into a draft note in the patient’s medical record.
