Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) has recently received a series of prestigious recognitions – not only for delivering exceptional patient care, but also for being an outstanding employer.

Four different organizations have recognized NGHS with national and regional awards, including:

  • Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) Gainesville was named the state’s best community hospital by U.S. News & World Report and ranked among the top three hospitals overall in Georgia.
  • NGMC Lumpkin received a five-star rating for quality from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • NGHS was named one of America’s Best-In-State Employers by Forbes for the state of Georgia.
  • NGHS was recognized as one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Healthiest Employers.

“To be recognized in Georgia and across the nation is truly an honor, and the real credit belongs to our medical staff and employees,” said Matt Hanley, MD, president and CEO of NGHS. “Every day, they show up with compassion and commitment to care for our patients, and it’s their dedication that makes these achievements possible and improves the health of our community.”
