Nurses are the heart of our hospitals and play a vital role in providing patient care and safeguarding the standard of care in our hospitals.
We are committed to providing our nurses with the support, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive in their careers. From innovative practice models to comprehensive growth programs, NGHS is a place where nurses can grow, lead, and make a meaningful impact on patient care.
Our Professional Practice Model (PPM) symbolizes our beliefs, values, and systems for nursing practice. Depicted as a vibrant tree, it reflects our commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and fostering a supportive environment for our nursing team.
The trunk reflects our foundation in shift primary nursing, while the branches represent the broader NGHS system and our Quest for Excellence. The multicolored leaves illustrate the ongoing changes and meaningful moments experienced daily, and the orange leaves highlight our “Seven Cs” of nursing: Compassion, Competence, Confidence, Conscience, Commitment, Comportment, and Creativity.
Dedicated care across all hours is honored through the yellow (day shift) and blue (night shift) areas. Rooted in our core values and supported by NGHS pillars—Safety/Quality, People, Service Excellence, Delivery, and Stewardship—this model underscores our mission: improving the health of our community in all we do.
NGHS leverages technology to enhance nursing practice and improve patient outcomes:
NGHS offers a variety of programs to support the professional development of our nursing staff:
“I love my coworkers, they’re like my people. I feel like I’ve found a group of nurses that focus on teamwork and love what they do as well. The managers and directors do a really good job of bringing the system to a personal level. I hadn’t found that in any other place that I’ve been in, it’s unique.” – Stephanie Sanders, RN
