Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) recently welcomed Sonja McLendon as its new Vice President of Professional Services. She has administrative responsibility for Bariatrics, Orthopedic/Neuroscience, Rehabilitation Institute, Hospice, Laboratory, Imaging, Behavioral Health, Pharmacy, Security, Plant Operations, Nutrition and Environmental Services.
McLendon most recently served as Vice President of Ancillary and Outpatient Services at ValleyCare Health System in Pleasanton, Calif., where she oversaw many of the same services she leads at NGMC.
“I’m excited to join an organization like NGMC because it not only has such a broad scope of services to help the community, it’s also received numerous national awards that exemplify the high-quality of care those services provide,” says McLendon. “I look forward to continuing that legacy of excellence.”
McLendon received a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Carolina, a master’s in education & sports medicine from the University of Virginia and a master’s in business administration from the University of South Carolina. She and her husband, Scott, live in Gainesville and have a 10-year-old daughter.
