Northeast Georgia Health System Names Employee of the Year and Recognizes Long-term Employees
Published on May 09, 2011GAINESVILLE, GA – Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) named June Fletcher the 2011 Employee of the Year and recognized other employees for their tenure of service during the organization’s annual employee appreciation luncheon, which was held Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Gainesville.
“June possesses all the qualities you want in an ER nurse,” says Carol Burrell, Interim CEO and Executive VP/COO of NGHS. “She is dedicated, caring and, perhaps most valuable in the ER, calm in times of crisis. June is an excellent representative of our organization.”
June has worked for Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) for 38 years. She joined the organization as an LPN and continued to work as she took classes to become an RN and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Brenau University. When June’s not working, she enjoys traveling and cooking.
During the week, the Health System held three celebration events recognizing 516 employees for their tenures: 234 for five years of service; 144 employees for 10 years of service; 71 employees for 15 years of service; 26 employees for 20 years of service; 22 employees for 25 years of service; 11 employees for 30 years of service; 5 employees for 35 years of service; and three employees for 40 years of service.
