Georgia Heart Institute is a leader across Georgia in endoscopic robotic heart surgery. Through our partnership with the nationally renowned surgeons of Northeast Georgia Physicians Group, we are devoted to providing the best possible outcomes for patients with heart disease through the least-invasive option. This means less pain and reduced recovery times, enabling our patients to get back to their lives faster, feeling better than ever.

What Our Patients Say

“It made the most sense for us to make the trip back down from Minnesota, and it was definitely worth it. Just two days after the surgery, I was leaving the hospital and feeling great. I can’t believe what the team was able to do through these tiny incisions.”

The Benefits of a Robotic Approach

Robotic Mitral Valve Repair

Georgia Heart Institute is one of the only programs in the United States to offer truly endoscopic robotic mitral valve repair. Our specialized team can access the damaged valve through tiny incisions below the armpit, rather than opening the chest to access the heart. This reduces post-surgery pain and recovery time significantly, while offering the same success rates as traditional surgery.

Robotic Aortic Valve Repair & Replacement

Robotic approach for aortic valve surgery is a newer advancement in the field of heart valve surgery, but it is emerging as a leading option to reduce pain and long recovery times for patients. These procedures must be done by a highly experienced robotic surgery team, like that of Northeast Georgia Physicians Group. We take special care to perform the surgery through the smallest incisions possible, while gaining incredible precision through robotic assistance.

Robotic Coronary Artery Bypass (CABG)

Our specialized robotic surgery team can perform heart bypass from start to finish through a few small incisions. This reduces the recovery time and the post-surgical pain experienced by the patient, enabling them to go home from the hospital faster and get back to normal life with their symptoms relieved. An additional benefit of robotic CABG is that, in certain cases, it can be performed without having to stop the heart and put the patient on a heart-lung bypass machine.
