Robert Wood, MD, Joins Northeast Georgia Physicians Group Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine

Darrell Scales, MD; Gregory Woods, MD; William Grimsley, MD; Jerome Nichols, MD; Joseph Powers, MD; William Primos, MD; Mark Hazel, MD; Justin Walker, MD; and the staff of Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine welcome Robert Wood, MD, to the practice.

Dr. Wood received his medical degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Alberta.  With a keen interest in total joint replacements, he completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the University of Texas and a second fellowship for adult reconstructive surgery – which focuses on hip and knee replacements – at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. 

Dr. Wood is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with more than 16 years of orthopedic experience in Massachusetts, where he served as the associate chief of Orthopedic Surgery at North Shore Medical Center Union Hospital in Lynn, Ma.   In 2014 he was awarded the Department of Surgery Award for Clinical Excellence and Professionalism at North Shore Medical Center.
