Our Facility

Sleep disorders can affect overall health, and some

may be life threatening.  In addition to daytime

sleepiness and fatigue, certain disorders may cause

high blood pressure and serious heart problems.

Sufferers often experience more illness, more accidents,

reduced job performance, lost income and strained

relationships. Children with sleep disorders may have learning difficulties, slow growth, coping problems and hyperactivity.

Fortunately, most sleep problems can be effectively managed. The Sleep Center of Northeast Georgia Medical Center provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment programs that help patients lead healthier, longer and more productive lives. 

The Sleep Center of NGMC is fully-accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and supported by nationally-known, board-certified sleep specialists with more than 20 years of combined experience.  Our technical staff is experienced, caring and equipped with the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.

The first step in a sleep evaluation is the completion of a comprehensive questionnaire.  A consultation follows where a certified sleep specialist will ask for detailed information about your sleep habits and current sleep problems.

Diagnostic Testing

If your questionnaire and consultation indicate that further testing is necessary, you will spend the night in our comfortable, home-like laboratory so that we can gather data on your sleep. The testing procedure is painless – you are monitored while you sleep by specially trained sleep technicians using the most advanced diagnostic equipment.  A copy of your results will be sent to your referring physician along with a recommendation for an appropriate course of treatment.

Most insurance companies provide coverage for evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders.  Contact your insurance company for details on your policy’s specific conditions.

The Sleep Disorders Center of NGMC is located at 535 Jesse Jewell Parkway in the same building with North Georgia Eye Clinic.  The Sleep Disorders Center also has a satellite location in Buford.
