Chemical Dependency Treatment
Laurelwood's substance abuse/dual diagnosis program offers a structured, safe and supportive environment which may include detoxification. During detoxification, the patient is medically monitored and given medical care for symptoms of withdrawal from the abused substance. Using the 12-step philosophy and an interdisciplinary team (which consists of nurses, therapists, mental health technicians, case managers and psychiatrists) patients begin the recovery process. On occasion, the patient's family may be asked to participate in a family session.
