Joints in Motion WHAT IS IT? The Joints In Motion Program at Northeast Georgia Medical Center uses a team approach to rehabilitation after hip and knee replacement surgery. Extensive patient education classes are held prior to surgery with emphases on pre-operative and post-operative care. Our goal is to have the patients up moving and exercising as soon as possible after surgery. The expected length of stay in the hospital is 3-4 days. WHAT IS OFFERED? Some components of the program include:
WHO CAN ATTEND? Any patient scheduled for total joint replacement will be requested to attend a 2-hour class prior to your surgery date. Also anyone in the community interested in attending a class may call the Joints In Motion Coordinator Monday –Friday at 678-897-5257. WHEN AND WHERE IS THE CLASS OFFERED? Weekly classes will take place in the Joints In Motion classroom on 1WEST. For patients having a total knee replacement, the class will be offered on Tuesday at 10am. For patients having a total hip replacement, the class will be offered on Thursday at 10am.
