Visiting Guidelines

Prior to your delivery, let family and friends know about the hospital’s visitation guidelines.  Also, because our mothers labor and deliver in the same room, make a list of those you want present during the delivery, and communicate that to family and friends before you arrive at the hospital.

Patient Rooms: Anyone may visit patients in their rooms during the hospital’s normal visiting hours, 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.  Volunteers at the hospital’s front information desk can give room numbers to visitors.  Please note that mothers will change rooms after delivery, so family and friends should always check with the information desk (770-535-3553).  Family waiting rooms with vending machines are located on the second floor if the patient is unable to receive guests at the time of visit.  For the privacy of our mothers giving birth, please do not wait in the hallways outside of the patients’ rooms.

Sibling Visitation: We encourage big brothers and sisters over the age of 2 to visit their new baby siblings.  Brothers and sisters need to be accompanied by an adult, and visitation time should be limited according to the age of the child.  For example, a younger child of age 2 probably would need to visit for only 30 minutes. For the health of your newborn, we ask that all visitors to the maternity center be free of fever, cough, diarrhea, runny nose, rash or any infectious disease such as chicken pox.
