Childbirth and Parenting Classes

The Medical Center offers several options for childbirth education. Call 770-535-3357 for more information.

Prepared Childbirth - $75

The Prepared Childbirth Class meets from 7 - 9 p.m. one night a week for five weeks. The Prepared Childbirth Class covers "natural" pain control methods and also provides information on the types of anesthesia available for women in labor. The registration fee covers educational materials for you and your partner. You will be scheduled for a class which meets in your last trimester.

Prepared Childbirth Review - $30

The review is recommended for couples who have not attended Prepared Childbirth Classes in three or more years. As a review class, you may attend all of the classes in the Prepared Childbirth series or you may come to the first class and ask your instructor which classes you should attend.

Breastfeeding
The Medical Center offers a class on breastfeeding basics on the fourth Monday of the month.  The class meets from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.  To learn more, call 770-535-3357. (No classes in Feb., May, August or December.)

Newborn Parenting - $35

Taking care of a newborn can be overwhelming!  Learn newborn care basics in this informative and educational class, held the second Monday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (No classes in February, July, October or December.)

Car Seat Safety Class - FREE
Make sure your baby is as safe as possible in his or her carseat by taking this class and learning from the experts.  The class meets from 7 - 9 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. (There are no classes in January or July.)

Our New Baby (for brothers and sisters-to-be) - $10/family (one child) add $5 for each additional child

Help brothers and sisters-to-be prepare for the new role as big brother or sister with the Medical Center's "Our New Baby" class which meets from 6 - 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month. (No classes in March, April, June or December.)

Pediatric CPR - $25/person
Pediatric CPR classes are held on the first Monday of every other month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Classes for 2008 will be held in February, April, June, August, October and December.
