The staff at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) is proud to have been a part of thousands of births in the more than 50 years we’ve been delivering babies. We believe that by choosing us as your hospital, you place a very special trust in us, and we will work hard to make your stay here a pleasant one.

At NGMC, we believe in Mother/Baby Care, which allows you to actively participate in caring for your newborn during your hospital visit. Our role in helping you bond with your baby is as important as the delivery itself. Part of Mother/Baby Care is having your baby in the room with  you as much as you’d like.

The Medical Center offers Labor/Delivery/Recovery (LDR) Rooms to allow you to labor, deliver and recover in one spacious room.  You will then spend the rest of your stay in a private mother/baby room with your baby. Fathers, and others as the mother desires, are welcome participants in childbirth.

If the unexpected were to happen and your baby required intensive care, the Medical Center is equipped with a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Within the unit, babies are cared for by skilled nurses and on-staff neonatologists 24 hours a day.

Should you require specialized prenatal care, perinatologists are on staff at NGMC.  Services provided by Gainesville Perinatal Center  include genetic counseling, 3-D and 4-D ultrasound, nuchal translucency certification and fetal echocardiography.
