Meet Our Therapists

Physical Therapy

Christine Blumberg, Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Christine has worked with NGMC as a physical therapy assistant for seven years and has a total of 17 years of outpatient orthopedic therapy experience. She received her bachelor of science degree from North Georgia College and her associate degree in applied science as a licensed physical therapy assistant from Gwinnett Technical College.

Joy Cleveland, Physical Therapist (PT, CSCS)
Joy is a physical therapist with The Rehabilitation Institute. She is a graduate of Georgia State University and received her strength and conditioning specialist certification in 1995. Joy has nearly 20 years of experience in the field. Her primary area of practice is orthopedics and spine care.

Sandy Dufty, Physical Therapist (PT)
Sandy is a physical therapist and the clinic coordinator at The Rehab Institute in Braselton. She comes to the clinic from Broward General Medical Center, where she worked for nine years in an outpatient setting. She earned her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Florida International University in Miami and has more than 15 years of experience in the field.

 
Josh Hill, Physical Therapist (PT)
Josh is a physical therapist at The Rehab Institute in Braselton. He earned his master’s degree in physical therapy from Georgia State University and has a special interest in sports related injuries, orthopedics and spine care.

 
Jim Hlavacek, Supervisor of Outpatient Rehabilitation (PT, MS, DPT)
Jim received his master’s degree in physical therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina and his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of St. Augustine. He joined NGHS in 2008 and has more than a decade of clinical experience. 
 

Cindy Hurlbert, Physical Therapist (PT, MS)
Cindy is a physical therapist with The Rehabilitation Institute. She received her undergraduate degree in physical therapy from Russell Sage College in Troy, N.Y., and her advanced master’s degree in orthopaedic physical therapy from Georgia State
University. Cindy is a lifetime member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and has served in many elected APTA positions both locally and nationally.

Christie Rary, Pediatric Physical Therapist (MS, PT, PCS)
Amanda Kay Reepe, Physical Therapist (DPT, C/NDT)
Jennifer Rowe, Physical Therapist (DPT)
Jennifer received her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University, her master’s degree from North Georgia College and State University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Georgia.  She has extensive experience in general outpatient orthopedic and neurologic injuries.
 
Shannon Smith, Physical Therapy (DPT)
Kim Snider, Physical Therapist (BS, PT)
Kim received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Georgia State University.  She joined NGHS in 1997 and has extensive experience with orthopedics, aquatics and spine rehab.
David Stanley, Physical Therapist (MPT, Cert. MDT, CSCS)
David received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and his master’s degree from Medical College of Georgia.  He has practiced physical therapy for more than 13 years and is a certified Mackenzie Therapist®.
Paige Tatum, Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Paige is a licensed physical therapist assistant at The Rehabilitation Institute in Cleveland.  She received her associate’s degree from Athens Area Technical Institute and has assisted physical therapy for 12 years. Paige is a native of Cleveland and is excited about utilizing her skills in her hometown.
Angela Telander, Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
Angela received her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy assisting from Sanford Brown College of Missouri in 1999.  She joined NGHS in 2010.
Pam Walcott, Physical Therapist (PT)
Pam is a licensed physical therapist and the clinic coordinator at The Rehabilitation Institute in Cleveland.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Indiana
University and has worked as a physical therapist for 32 years, primarily in outpatient orthopedic settings.  Pam has worked at the Cleveland location for 16 years.
Katie Wallace, Physical Therapist (PT, DPT)
Lee Watkins, Physical Therapist (MS, PT)
Lee received his master’s degree in physical therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University.  He has more than a decade of clinical experience and specializes in treating cervical spine and shoulder disorders.  Lee joined NGHS in 2001.
Laura E. Witt, Physical Therapist (PT)
Zuowei Zhao, Physical Therapist (DPT, MS, BM)
Zuowei earned his medical degree in China, his master’s degree in exercise science from University of South Carolina and his doctorate in physical therapy from Georgia State University.  He has conducted neuroscience research at Emory University, practiced medicine in China and Germany, and has special interest in orthopedic and neurological disorders.  Zuowei joined NGHS in 2010.
Ken Whitlow, Physical Therapist (PT)
Ken received his physical therapy degree from Medical College of Georgia and has more than 18 years of experience – including 14 years in Dawsonville, where he most recently owned and operated Cornerstone Physical Therapy on Lumpkin Campground Road. Ken is a native of Stone Mountain, Ga., and has special expertise in sports medicine, outpatient orthopedics and manual therapy. He joined NGHS in 2013.

Occupational Therapy

Dava Harris, Occupational Therapist (MBA, OTR/L, ATP)
Dava is an occupational therapist at The Rehab Institute in Braselton.  She is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia and has more than 17 years of experience in both neuro and orthopedic practice.  She is modality certified and is a certified assistive technology practitioner for wheelchair seating needs.
 
Ainslie Kriston, Occupational Therapist (MS, OTR/L, CHT)
Ainslie received her bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Illinois and her master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Tennessee.  She is also a certified hand therapist and specializes in industrial rehab and ergonomics.

Neuropsychology Therapy

Dr. James Mullin, Neuropsychologist (MD)
Dr. Mullin is board certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology.  He is fellowship trained in neuropsychology, having completed post-doctoral training at Shepherd Center/ Emory University Center
for Rehabilitation Medicine.
