Northeast Georgia Medical Center to Co-Host Diabetes Education Classes in Clayton with Mountain Lakes Medical Center

Certified diabetes educators from Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s (NGMC) Diabetes Education and Self-Management Program are now offering convenient classes for patients with diabetes in Clayton, Ga., in conjunction with Mountain Lakes Medical Center.
The classes will offer education about diabetes disease process and treatment options, nutritional management, physical activity, medications for diabetes, monitoring blood glucose and preventing, detecting and treating acute and chronic complications of diabetes. All education is from the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management.
Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on: July 12, September 13 and November 8 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center (196 Ridgecrest Circle in Clayton).
Those interested in this class should contact their physician for a referral. There is a charge for the class (to be determined upon insurance verification); verification of benefits will be completed prior to the class.
