GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) is proud to announce its accreditation with DNV Healthcare.
DNV Healthcare’s accreditation program is the first new federally approved accreditation option for hospitals in several decades. It is a complete redesign of accreditation standards that offers NGMC the opportunity to simultaneously satisfy its Medicare compliance requirements for reimbursement and implement the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. ISO 9001 is recognized by businesses around the world as the benchmark for continual quality improvement.
“We are proud to be accredited by the DNV program, which we believe is more consistent with our goals and long-term commitment to patient safety and total quality,” says Carol Burrell, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. “By integrating ISO 9001 organically into the Medicare compliance standards, DNV accreditation allows hospitals to worry less about the accreditation survey itself and spend more time on what matters most, like patient safety, infection prevention and other key challenges.”
NGMC has also been awarded certification as a Primary Stroke Center by DNV Healthcare. For more information about Northeast Georgia Medical Center, visit www.nghs.com.About DNV Healthcare
