Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is pleased to announce Melissa Tymchuk has accepted the position of director of Marketing and Public Relations, effective immediately. She served as interim director since Cathy Bowers’ retirement earlier this year.
“Melissa also has a strong, demonstrated ability to effectively analyze and manage complex communications messages,” says Tracy Vardeman, Vice President of Strategic Planning and Marketing at NGHS. “She and the NGHS marketing team have been responsible for numerous national and statewide awards for marketing excellence, creativity and effectiveness.”
Melissa just celebrated her 15-year anniversary at NGHS with the last 11 years serving as manager of Public Relations.
“I am very pleased to move into this new position at NGHS,” Melissa says. “I have thoroughly enjoyed working here and am excited about the opportunities ahead. The expert care provided by our physicians and staff, which has built a national reputation for our health system, makes it very rewarding to promote such an incredible organization.”
Melissa recently received the highest recognition of individual member leadership, the W.G. Mealor Award, from the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. She was recognized specifically for her volunteer work as the Chamber's Vice Chair of Marketing and Communications. She also serves on the Vision 2030 Board of Directors, where she co-chairs The Wisdom Project, a newly launched senior leadership program.
Melissa is a graduate of Leadership Hall County and is a current member of the 2012 Leadership Georgia Class, one of only 60 selected statewide for outstanding leadership contributions.
Melissa and her husband, Danny, live in Gainesville with their daughter, Mary Eloise.
