Northeast Georgia Health System Announces New Administrators

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) announces two new administrators. 

Elyse Gates was promoted to vice president of the Revenue Cycle. In this position, Gates is responsible for overseeing Revenue Cycle for the Health System, which includes: patient access, centralized scheduling, patient financial services, system patient receivables, physician central billing office, health information management, physician and hospital coding, physician and hospital charge capture and utilization management.

Gates started with NGHS in 2010 as director of Patient Access.  She then became director of Patient Financial Services, executive director of the Revenue Cycle and later moved to her most current role, vice president of Revenue Cycle.  Previously, Gates worked for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta where she served as Patient Financial Services manager and senior manager of Patient Services.  Gates attended the University of Florida, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

“Elyse brings demonstrated expertise, energy and very strong team leadership to this critical position during a time of constant change,” says Tony Herdener, chief financial officer of NGHS. “We are thrilled to have such an experienced and thoughtful leader to take over this role.” 

Mike Hill was also promoted to executive director of the Program Management Office. Hill will serve as the Executive for the Program Management Office (PMO) in Information Systems including all project managers implementing technology solutions for NGHS operational partners. Hill will provide project planning, training and implementation services.

Hill has over twenty years of experience implementing enterprise technology and business solutions.  Experience leading big four consulting engagements, project management, PMO startups, leadership, technology design, software/ hardware deployment, outsourcing and merger/integration, financial and operations improvement projects.  Hill graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s in management, concentrating on healthcare and finance.
