Children’s Visitation Restriction Lifted at Northeast Georgia Medical Center
Published on April 08, 2011GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Children’s visitation restriction has been lifted at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, effective today, April 8, 2011. Children’s visitation was restricted at NGMC in December 2010 to help minimize the risk of infection for patients during flu season. According to NGMC’s Infection Prevention and Control Committee Chairman, Elliot Raizes, MD, the restriction has been lifted due to a four-week steady decline in incidence of influenza in the State of Georgia and locally. Children may visit according to normal visitation guidelines.
