Surgical Weight Loss Services

The Bariatric Weight Loss Center offers education and support services to patients undergoing gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy or banding surgery for morbid obesity. Our staff guides patients through the application, pre-operative, surgical and post-operative processes and provides medical history and testing evaluations, nutritional counseling and post-operative care and support services.

Northeast Georgia Medical Center has a dedicated Bariatrics nursing unit in the North Patient Tower on the Main Campus, located at 743 Spring Street in Gainesville.  This specially-designed unit has rooms equipped with beds, toilets, shower chairs, blood pressure cuffs, scales and transfer devices uniquely made to accommodate bariatric patients.  In addition, staff members involved in bariatric surgery and post-operative patient care have undergone specialized training to ensure the highest quality of care for patients during their hospital stay.
