NGMC’s proposed campus will border a new four-lane highway, State Route 347, being planned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (DOT). The timeline of the new campus construction is in alignment with the DOT’s proposed timeline for SR 347, which has an anticipated completion date of 2011-2012. Plans for the hospital campus utilize a healthcare village concept, which will promote a variety of health services linked together by a network of paths and streets with pedestrian walkways. NGMC is committed to the development of an environmentally friendly health services campus that will be an asset to the community, both functionally and aesthetically. Services at the South Hall Campus will include: medical and surgical services, diagnostic services, outpatient rehabilitation, emergency services and some specialty services. Development of healthcare services at this location will provide South Hall residents with quick access to care, which is especially important in life-threatening emergencies, such as heart attack and stroke. Treatments such as thrombolytic drug therapy, given soon after the onset of symptoms, greatly increase patients’ chances of complete recovery.
