Sleep Disorders Center Accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM)
Northeast Georgia Medical Center’s Sleep Disorders Center has been awarded accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The pioneer in the area of sleep center accreditation, AASM accreditation is viewed as the “gold standard” for sleep programs. The accreditation process is voluntary and requirements for accreditation are continuously reviewed and updated to ensure that the latest advances in sleep medicine are incorporated into patient evaluation and treatment. In order to apply for accreditation, a facility must also have a board-certified specialist leading the program. In many states, third party payers require that sleep studies be performed at an AASM accredited facility for reimbursement.
