Accreditations: The Cancer Center
The Cancer Center Accredited with Commendation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons
The Cancer Center at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) received three-year accreditation with commendation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. Accreditation with commendation is the highest level of accreditation that can be achieved by a cancer center. Three-year accreditation with commendation is awarded when the program complies with all CoC standards and receives a commendation rating for at least one or more of the eligibility categories of standards. The Cancer Center at NGMC received commendation in all eight categories of standards which include institutional and programmatic resources, cancer services leadership, cancer data management and registry operations, clinical management, research, community outreach, professional education and staff support, and quality improvement.
